3-6-26 THOUGHTS
Two passage areas this morning that describe our Savior in the most powerful of terms! In Heb 1:3, the ESV uses the word “universe” in addition to the idea of “all things”. As the end of verse 2 says “He created the world,” there is some justification for this rendering. I leave it to you to try to understand the awesomeness of what our Lord does continually. I will not try to understand what I cannot comprehend. But I can stand in AWE!
Col 1:15-17 ESV He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Heb 1:1-3 ESV Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. Our Prayer:
Thank You Lord God, for things too high for us to understand. Your might and power and glory explode as we consider the work of Your hands in the creation. You are truly an awesome God, the only true and living God! There is none beside You. We exalt and lift up Your great name. May Jesus Christ our Lord, keep doing what it seems He always does. May we stand in AWE in Your presence at all times, our Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
